13th Biennial International Juried Enamel Exhibition
Sep. 09, 2011 - Oct. 29, 2011

Arrowmont is pleased to host the debut of the 13th Biennial International Juried Enamel Exhibition and the 9th International Juried Student Exhibition. The exhibitions will be displayed at the Knoxville Museum of Art (Knoxville, TN) and the Metals Museum (Memphis, TN) after leaving Arrowmont.

"Alchemy," a term that refers to a seemingly magical power of transmutation as well as the ancient chemical philosophy of turning base metal into gold or silver, can apply to enamel as it is magically transformted by heat.

The 13th Biennial International Juried Enamel Exhibition and 9th International Juried Student Enamel Exhibition, sponsored by The Enamelist Society, highlights the best in contemporary enamels produced in the last 2 years. The International Juried Exhibition showcases the work of enamelists that demonstrate aesthetic and technical expertise. The Student Exhibition, which is always very inspiring, features the work of students in accredited degree programs throughout the world.

Both exhibitions will be held in the Sandra Blaine Gallery at Arromont, with an opening reception held Friday evening, September 16, 2011. Awards will be presented during the opening reception.

A printed catalog of both exhibitions will be available for purchase.
