Travellers Rest Plantation and Museum, the city’s oldest historic house operated as a museum, provides tours, exhibits, and educational programming about historic Nashville and wealthy planter John Overton for learners of all ages. With construction dating to 1799, the 4000 square-foot house served as Confederate headquarters during the Civil War Battle for Nashville.
