The goal of Art Museum Touring is to promote Art tourism to museums of all sizes especially those on our site. The site is designed for our visitors to see work from many different museums without ever having to go to many different websites. That way they can see work from museums that they might otherwise not ever look at. As working artists, we know that pictures have a lot more impact than words. Art Museum Touring is an image based website rather than a just a link site. We want our visitors to get a "taste" of what they could see if they went in person to see the exhibitions. We want them to see and participate in the many activities museums offer from classes, tours, lectures, and concerts with music ranging from classical to punk.

We want people and governments to recognize that museums are economic engines. Museums pay dividends to their areas. We do not charge the museums that are participating on our site. The mission of Art Museum Touring.com is to encourage Art and Cultural tourism. Our goal is to have a large number and variety of museums showing work from their collections and exhibitions. It is designed to be very user friendly. You can "page" through to see the current and upcoming exhibitions at the museums and galleries. Each participating museum, or public gallery, has a page with photos of what is currently on display (or soon will be) and a section for general information. They are encouraged to update their photos as they have new exhibitions. Small museums have the opportunity to be shown along side large ones. Many small museums, also, have very interesting exhibits and collections.

Our Exhibition page list the current and upcoming exhibitions with a preview photo provided by the museums, or gallery. In our Events section, we will be periodically showing pictures from some special exhibitions and interesting events in our region.

As working artists, we couldn't find a website that had what we were looking for, lots of pictures of the artwork from a variety of museums; so, we decided to build it ourselves. We hope you enjoy Art Museum Touring.com!

The primary focus of this site is the Art and Culture of our region as displayed in our museums and public galleries. We used the Official Museum Directory which lists their collections to select museums to invite to participate . We have since discovered there are some museums and public galleries which are not included in that directory. There is no charge to the participating museums.

All the material posted is provided by each museum, or gallery. Their page is changed and pictures updated as they send us new material. We will be adding museums and galleries as we are able and they send us their photos and information. Any museum interested in participating can contact us for qualifications, details and submission policies.

• If you are a business, advertise with us. Art Museum Tourism.com is an excellent place to advertise your business especially if you are in anyway involved with the art, or tourism industry. I would encourage cities, and states that want to promote tourism to their areas to advertise with us. Museums are economic engines that bring in money to your area.
