Mission Statement Children’s Museum offers parking options while during front lot construction The Children’s Museum will remain open and access will be available to the front entrance of the museum during parking lot construction. Parking is available on the street in front of the museum at 461 West Outer Drive and at the Highland View Park adjacent to the museum. An $80,000 contribution from The Rock Church and in-kind contributions from several local businesses and organizations have allowed the museum to plan for a much-needed paved parking lot. The Children’s Museum wishes to thank the following, who have donated time, money or expertise to the project: The Rogers Group, along with Dave Rector and Gary Seep; The Rock Church and the Rev. Ed Schneider; CH2M Hill, along with Pat McMillan and Gina Inkelbarger; OMI, along with John Ragan and Terry Ethridge; R & R Properties, and Richard Chinn and Ryan Chinn; Lackey & Associates, Inc., and Gene Lackey; the City of Oak Ridge Public Works Department, along with Gary Cinder, Steve Byrd and Rick Irwin; Mayor Tom Beehan and City Manager Mark Watson. The new parking lot will provide space for 90 vehicles. The new paved parking lot will allow the Children’s Museum to accommodate a greater volume of museum visitors and to improve wheelchair and stroller accessibility. The Children’s Museum apologizes for any inconvenience during this work and appreciates your understanding while the work is progressing. The museum will be open during regular hours, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, and from 1-4 p.m. Sunday.
