Rainforest Romp   June 13-17, 9-noon
Who is that up in the tree canopy? Investigate creatures in the rainforest. Make an animal mask, follow tracks, eat tropical food and find the lost scientist.

Dinosaur Diggins   June 20-24, 9-noon
Get ready to travel back through time as we witness an erupting volcano, dig for dinosaur bones, create a fossil, roar and stomp like a T-rex, make a puppet and open a dino egg.

Art Attack   June 27-July 1, 9-noon
It's time to express yourself! Create your own masterpieces by painting a picture, sculpting a clay animal, decorating a picture frame with natural objects, “pow” painting and foot art.

Clickety Clack Train   July 11-15, 9-noon
Join our favorite little engine stories during the week: Thomas the Tank and friends, The Little Engine That Could, The Good Night Train and Down by the Station.

Patty Cake, Patty Cake   July 18-22, 9-noon
Shake it up in the kitchen with recipes as you bake some chicken toes, stir up salsa dip and veggies, chunk up cheesy pasta and trees, build a breakfast of birds in a nest and twist up some turkey sushi. Materials Fee $5

Disney Princess   July 25-29, 9-noon
Dress up like Cinderella, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Make your own tiara and ruby necklace, construct a castle, paint a princess portrait and have a Royal Tea on Friday.

'Lil Gardener   August 1-5, 9-noon
Grow your name, make a garden stone, pick veggies and water the garden, do mud finger painting, make a sun print and a leaf tie-dye.

Secret City   June 13-17, 9-noon

Aspiring kid spies will hone their craft while learning about real spies. Then hit the hallways to run training missions. Develop an undercover disguise, make and break secret codes, learn escape and evasion techniques and create and use spy gadgets.

Jedi Training June 13-17, 1-4pm
Hone your math and science skills constructing a Star Wars Lego ship, build a droid with found objects, make a Darth Vader mask, create a Princess Leia do and practice with light sabers. Learn about the sun, moon and stars. May the force be with you. This Camp Full

Whimsical World of Fairies   June 20-24, 9-noon
Discover many magical things as we explore fairyland through stories, crafts, songs and dance. You may even meet a pixie, brownie or sprite along this enchanted journey.

“Kids Go Green” Garden Sprouts  June 20-24, 9-noon
Come play in the dirt in the “Kids Go Green” organic garden. In this interactive introduction to the garden, campers will discover soil, seeds, the plant life cycle and the many wonders of the natural world. Campers will create garden art, conduct science experiments and cultivate a love of nature and gardening.

Puppet Theatre   June 20-24, 1-4pm
No strings attached! From sock animals to paper plates to stick creatures, kids will spend the day creating puppets of all shapes and sizes. Learn how marionettes work and use your creations for a puppet show.

Kids Thyme in the Kitchen June 27-July 1, 9am-noon
Learn how to read recipes make healthy food choices, plan menus and practice kitchen safety. Cook up chicken pot pie, meatloaf muffins, blanket-in-a-pig, crispy potato nests, brownies, fruit tarts, purple burping cow and more. Materials Fee $10, Limit 12

Mess-terpieces   June 27-July 1, 1-4pm
Discover how Picasso used shapes, Warhol repeated patterns, Pollock spattered paint, Kandinsky used music and color, Seurat painted with dots, O' Keeffe used flower power and Rousseau created colorful animals. Learn how their new ideas changed art and make your own masterpieces inspired by these artists.

Imaginarium   July 11-15, 9-noon
Imagination rules in this camp of fairytale fantastics with wizards, knights, princesses, dragons, mermaids and unicorns. Weave a tale around characters you create. Explore art as you set the scene and design costumes; learn science while making potions; and build confidence acting out a character. Materials Fee $5

Kids Go Global   July 11-15, 1-4pm
Take a journey around the world experiencing different cultures through hands-on activities like cooking, making art with an international flair and gardening. Get your passport ready to travel. Materials Fee $5

Cooking Concoctions July 18-22, 9-noon
Cook up some edible worms and taquitos, bake a cookie pizza and some eyeballs. Create and eat fun and easy snacks like pretend soup, monster munch, leopard cake, cucumber cactus and more.  Materials Fee $10, Limit 12

Krafty Kids  July 18-22, 1-4pm
Get your creative juices flowing. Design jewelry, craft a project from found objects, create a mask, make a butterfly flyer and a wind chime, jazz up a picture frame and blend up some paper. Materials Fee $10

Arts Sampler   July 25-29, 9-noon
Campers experience art in many forms, from painting and drawing to weaving  printmaking, papermaking and hand-building clay.

Science Magic   July 25-29, 1-4pm
The fun is only beginning as we look at the world around us through our magical goggles. Mix up a magic potion, catch a rainbow, brew up some slime, knot up some bones, pour up a lava lamp and check out the invisible force of magnets.

Shades of Green  Part 1, 9-noon, Part 2, 1-4pm, Aug 1-5
Campers will explore CMOR's organic garden while learning environmental awareness through art, music and nature. Using several mediums including paint, collage, clay and chalk campers will create nature prints, paint with dirt, construct garden sculpture, clay vessels and more.   

Grades 4-7
Drab to Fab   June 13-17, 9-noon
Accessorize from head to toe. Turn those drab duds into something fabulous. Tie-dye a shirt, revamp your pants, make a purse from jeans, create hair accessories, a toe ring and ankle bracelet and redecorate your shoes. Learn the basics of knitting. Materials Fee $5

Bling   June 13-17, 1-4pm
Create a necklace or bracelet and earrings. Decoupage a picture frame, glitz up a box for your jewelry, micro-bead-a-pen and make a blinged out journal from scratch.
Materials Fee $10

Incredible Edible Art   June 20-24, 9-noon
Create a Pollack with ice cream, a Nevelson sculpture with veggies, a pizza flower like O' Keeffe, a Kandinsky with fruit, a Rousseau animal from macaroni and more. Materials Fee $10, Limit 12

Progressive Cooking   June 20-24, 1-4pm
Prepare part of a meal each day: appetizer, salad, soup, entree and, of course, dessert. Decorate an apron and make a recipe booklet.  Materials Fee $10, Limit 12

Wild & Crazy Kids   June 27-July1, 9-noon
Have a Nerf and silly string war, create a marble shoot, build an obstacle course then guide your partner through it blindfolded, play water balloon games, capture the flag and  more. Materials Fee $5

Minute To Win it   June 27-July 1, 1-4pm
Test your speed, agility and ingenuity using your critical thinking skills to solve the challenges. Play games like laying track, moving on up, punch your light out, elephant march, brush with danger, get “juggy” and more. Materials Fee $5

Riding the Rails   July 11-15, 9-noon
Hands on experience in building and setting up model train layouts using T-Track concepts. Learn train sizes and types and how they work. Train will run over connected layout on Friday. Materials Fee $25

Launch Time   July 11-15, 1-4pm
Make safety goggles from a soda bottle, construct a boomerang, a flying x-zylo cylinder, catapult, stomp rocket, marshmallow gun, rocket-powered penny and more. Materials Fee $10

Back to Business   July 18-22, 9-noon
Find out what it's like to start a business. Create it on paper; design a brochure, work up a logo, supplies needed and the cost to make your creation. Then set up in the gym on Friday to market your product.

Babysitting Class   July 18-22, MWF 1-4pm, T, Th noon-4pm, Ages 11-13
The Children's Museum is partnering with Methodist Medical's Cheryl Stallings and the Safe Sitters ® program to learn CPR for infants and toddlers. Find out how to change diapers, learn games to play and make healthy snacks and crafts while babysitting. Learn how to calm a fussy or upset child and more. ****Please note times, ages and date.****

Professional clay artist Sherrie Carris will be teaching camps. She has a BFA from the University of Texas, an MFA from the University of Iowa and teaching certification from the University of Tennessee.

Favorite pieces will be glazed and fired for pick-up in 2 weeks after camp.

Campers discover the magical qualities of clay while hand building whimsical bug and bird sculptures, coil pots, shakers, tiles and stamps.

Beginning Clay June 13-17, 1-4pm, Ages 6-12
Make a pinch, coil and slab pot, decorate tiles, sculpt animals and create picture frames.

Let's Make Lunch June 20-24, 9-noon, Ages 3-5
What are your favorite foods? Make clay spaghetti, tacos, cupcakes, pancakes or a bagel. Then hand-build a dish to put them on and a cup to drink from.

Beadorama June 20-24, 1-4pm, Ages 6-12
Create colorful clay beads and pendants in all shapes, sizes and colors to create necklaces, pins and bracelets. Hand-build a jewelry box to keep your jewelry. Make a wind chime with beads and a sun catcher.

Mosaics June 27-July, Ages 7-12
Smash up those cracked plates and cups to create a wall hanging, frame, garden stone, box and sculpture.

Fantasy Fish June 27-July 1, 1-4pm, Ages 6-12
Draw a picture of a magical fish and hand-build it accompanied by a school of smaller fish. Create a wood stand to display the fish with underwater vegetation and shells. Make a fish wind chime and a Louise Nevelson sculpture of wood.

Beginning Wheel Work July 18-22, 9-noon, Ages 9-16, Maximum 6 campers.
Learn the basics of throwing pots, plates, bowls and vessels on the wheel.

Fantastic Boxes July 18-22, 1-4pm, Ages 6-12
Work outside the box with your only limitation your imagination! Sketch a design then learn how to use clay tools and found objects to create multi mixed boxes. Will your box have the characteristics of an insect, arachnid or animal?

Masks July 11-15, 9-noon Ages 6-12
Study the designs of African and North American Indian masks to create your own masterpiece. Use methods such as Sgraffito and mixed media to add detail to your masks. Carve or add clay for deeper relief.

Back Yard Art July 11-15, 1-4pm Ages 6-12
Tap your creative side and make art for your yard like clay chimes, a stepping stone, bird feeder, toad house, coil pot, bat house or a wood sculpture.

Roll out clay, then carve, stamp and use found objects to create a wall hanging. Carve or add clay to create people or animals with your own design.
