Mission
The mission of the Brandywine River Museum is to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret for public benefit artistic and historical objects with primary emphasis on the art of the Brandywine region, American illustration and still life painting.

The mission is founded on the conviction that the special aspects of American art to which the Museum is dedicated have unique value and will be enjoyed and understood by an increasingly large and diverse audience.
